Fall always has an aura of fresh starts. I remember how each new year of school was full of new opportunities—new classes, new clubs and sports, new friends, etc.
My oldest grandchild, Addy, has entered high school and I am privileged to get regular updates from her. I must admit that my biology class wasn’t as difficult as hers as I watched her study for the next day’s test.
After a summer away from scheduled meetings, the Naperville Garden Club begins our new year. Although our members do keep in touch, get together for garden walks and work on our projects, the unifying event is our general meeting (Held September through June) when most of our members are in attendance. Guests and new members are always welcome.
The September meeting will be held on Wed., Sept. 24, at Grace United Methodist Church, lower level, 300 E. Gartner Road. Registration begins and catered refreshments are served at 8:45A.M., followed by a brief Business Meeting and then the Program.
This month I’m grateful Nina Koziol, horticulturist and educator, will show us how to start a cutting garden and then how to use homegrown flowers in arrangements. Paid reservations ($20) are due September 17. Call or text Sandy to RSVP (630-251-0577). Please join us!
