Okay no judgment please, plant care in Colorado is really hard. The top of this kind of died but it has a ton of new growth on the bottom. Should I cut the trunk down?

I’d cut the trunk a few inches above the bottom branch

Sitting on that vent might not be good

Looks like that lower branch the only place that’s getting sun and can see the sky. Stand next to the fiddle. Look out of the windows. Can you see the sky? If not, move the plant. You also probably need to go ahead and cut it back.

I’d chop it off and move close to a window!

Needs way more light. As others have said do a big chop and move it to sufficient lighting

No judgment at all! If the top is dead but there’s healthy new growth below, you can trim the dead part to help it focus energy on the new shoots. Just cut cleanly above the new growth.

I suggest chopping it back..just keep the trunk at 1-1.5 ft tall..it’ll bud again in several weeks+…..do it asap..Winter is coming soon!

This tropical plant needs sunlight so much..it’s better to place it by brighter window/spot

Soil looks dry..how often do you water it?..and does this pot have drainage holes?
