My 10 year old son has started showing a real interest in my plants and garden. He always picks something out that is "his" to care for. He has always gravitated towards succulent type plants. So when he saw the living stone for the first time a few weeks ago he had to have it. I have no experience with them and know very little. I warned him of this but he insisted we could do some research and for $3 i figured what the hell. When we checked it yesterday we were absolutely shocked to see it starting to flower!! All we did was stick it in the sun.
What substrate should this be in?
Wait until after it flowers to change anything?
Will it propagate itself?
Thank you!

How beautiful, this is so cool. Lithops are difficult to grow if you follow and want to do the same as you do with more traditional plants.
Research the aspects of watering, soil and light.
Soil preferably with a lot of inorganic matter, I use here 90 to 95% pumice stones and the rest soil for cacti and succulents.
I only water when I need it.
Good luck and enjoy this moment with your child.
