I recently got my first ever carnivorous plant and it was doing fine until yesterday when a bunch of the traps started going yellow, and black around the edges.

It’s standing in the sunniest spot available (although I do live in Scandinavia so it might not be enough?). It’s planted in a pot with drainage holes and is standing on a large saucer which I put a bit of water in (I’ve heard they like “wet feet, not wet ankles”?) I’ve only given it rainwater.

What am I doing wrong?
Too much water? Too little? Not enough sun? Should I place it under a grow light?

  1. Your plant looks perfectly fine. The brown traps are just old ones slowly dying off.

But it would be best to place the plant outside so that it gets more light.
