Brassavola. I agree they are extremely easy to grow and very hard to kill. There are so many pretty hybrids in lots of colors too

I would agree that a lot of their primary hybrids are pretty awesome. Lots of drama, easy to grow, and bloom fairly often.

All i see is a kid in a candy store. I need to be here with all the orchids.

    B. nodosa is one of my favorites, although it is absent from my collection. IF it has one drawback as a parent, it’s that a lot of its offspring tend to look similar. I remember in an orchid book on hybridizing it had a very bland-looking nodosa hybrid which had the caution of being selective with parents. The flower was a pale dull green, dull spots all over it, plus bad shape. I kinda felt sorry for it.

I recently found out about Brassanthe Maikai ‘Spotted Star’ which has all the color, but does not fade as the flower ages. Needless to say, it is on my list.
