Qualifier… I am an amateur at landscaping. Three years ago I bought this house which has very mature landscaping from a previous owner who had a lot of time on their hands. Over the last three years I’ve slowly educated myself on how to maintain the majority of the plants and trees.

What do I do with this tree? Currently, it’s leaning away from the house and tied to a stake in the ground to keep it from falling. It is stable, but I feel that it’s too big and does not fit in with the rest of the landscaping at this point.

I have some trimming to do on the smaller plants and trees this fall to bring them back into shape.

I love weeping cypress. Looks like it could use a good pruning to get it growing right again but I would keep it!

That tree is magnificent. Leave it be.

The tree is growing the way it’s meant to. Keep it and maybe thin it out. I too like the weeping Cyprus.

  4. It is a purposely droopy tree. They are coveted by many homeowners. If you like it, keep it. If you hate it kill it.

That side of your house just ain’t got no windows. I’d keep it. Mostly.

If it’s a weeping species, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. **Do not top it** That’s bad for trees.

If you can tolerate it, keep it; removal is costly.

Get a plastic Lorax and attach it to the top!

I love the tree, the weird shaped shrubs next to it are causing the scale problems.

Don’t touch it, its suppose to look like this and anything you do to it will permanently scar it because it does not grow back like other trees.

Put really big googly eyes on it and call it a scooby doo villain

It’s beautiful and they grow slow so keep it. Weeping Nootka

That tree has personality. It’s a discussion sparker. Just clean that beauty up. 😎👍

Dress it up for Halloween. Could look creepy. Lol!

Keep it! That’s a cool looking tree!

Literally leave it alone (except water)

  16. Flatfooting

I would plant more things around it.

  17. Celebrate it and don’t touch it. That’s a beautiful, $5,000+ tree

    Don’t touch it! It’s perfection!

It’s by far the most beautiful thing in your yard

Leave it. If it’s out of scale, add more stuff.

I would do nothing to the tree. I would transplant that reddish(maybe barberry bush) and get it away from the base. I would get rid of those what look to be overgrown spiral spruce or junipers. They’re out of shape and out of place. I would find two bushes that will fill the holes on either side of the tree. Get a bush that will grow four foot tall by four foot wide size. Golden color false cypress might look nice there.
