Just showing off our summer project to excise the astroturf that was here when we bought. It was quite a job to turn over the compacted clay and sand that was underneath but we have a couple of ferns and other bits growing in that area now as well as a mini clover lawn!

I just oversowed the clover to try and thicken it up – it suffered a bit in the drought. Overall, really thrilled with how it’s gone!

Is it sunny? If so you might like some Irish Moss to extend your clover lawn. Bit slow to get started first year then big patches of very padded velvety green and little white flowers.

I hate plastic grass, I refuse to lay it and have lost a few jobs because of it. It’s awful, an ecological nightmare.
You’ve done a great job, looks beautiful.
