Northern Virginia area.
Before and after pics shown. This is a difference of about 45 days. The after pic is my first attempt at lawn striping. My lawn is hands down the absolute darkest in the neighborhood too. I have some brown patches to attend to though.
I'm a bit late to the lawn nut club, but I've arrived. My wife and I just became new home owners a few months ago and that's when it started, lol. When renting in the past, I could care less about the grass. Just keep it low to keep the HOA off my landlord's and thus MY back. But now, I can't stop buying equipment, watching YouTube videos, planning, watering, etc. I work from home as a software developer, so manual labor is my break from knowledge work. I have a full renovation planned since my lawn is full of rocks in the soil and it's very bumpy, so I wan to level it as well.
No question or anything, just wanted to share my pride.

Nice looking lawn dude. What seed did you use? and yeah I’m the same way. My old place I literally just mowed because I had to. My new place I’ve fully dove into the lawn YouTube Reddit rabbit hole lol.
Great work! I know the feeling and it’s awesome having a lawn worth working for.
Beautiful!
Noobie here, could you share what you plan to do with the rocks?

This is just a small sample of what i was digging up in my yard. Good luck on your project
Love it! I just got a work from home gig after never being home with the military. It’s such a good mental break.
Did you have any weeds? What did you do to kill them?
Yours looks great now go over and help your neighbor. Looks like he’s got trouble!
I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions on this so I’d like to ask someone who clearly has a good system. I’m a new lawn (and crabgrass) owner and literally just spread top soil all over my yard today and will be seeding tomorrow. The question is: After overseeding, when do you fertilize? Some people say directly after seeding, but others say wait 3-5 days as to not waste the nutrients on the existing grass before the seeds open up. The problem w/ that is walking on/over newly seeded/potentially germinating lawn. Any suggestions?
How did you do it? I spend one hour minimum watering my lawn every day with a hose and I cut it every week. It never rains ever so it’s dying anyway and weeds all over
Beautiful lawn!
