A COUPLE from York who both struggled with dyslexia at school are set to debut their ingenious water saving device at the NEC in Birmingham next week.
As previously reported by The Press, Belle and Jason Richardson have a small holding in Pocklington and have come up with SealStop which acts like a portable ballcock allowing you to set your tap running and walk away without the risk of overfilling your container.

Both Belle and Jason, 41, went to school in York – Belle at The Mount and Jason at Oaklands and both suffered from dyslexia.
Belle, 34, said: “SealStop is all about convenience. It means your watering can or bucket will be full and ready when you need it, without the worry of flooding or waste. Especially during droughts or hosepipe bans, it becomes an essential tool for sustainable watering routines.
“According to Government figures, a significant portion of the global population is projected to face water scarcity by 2050, with estimates suggesting that over five billion people could experience water shortages. This is due to a combination of factors, including population growth, increased demand for water, and the impacts of climate change.”

Once the container is full, it automatically shuts off the flow of water, preventing overflow and eliminating waste. It’s a time-saving solution that allows gardeners to multitask confidently, knowing their water use is under control.
The couple, whose sons Oscar, eight and six-year-old Seb help pack the products, have also won Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday; the UK Business awards start-up innovation customer satisfaction award; and One to Watch University of York Enterprise Award, sponsored by Uber.

Visitors to Glee will be able to see SealStop in action, try it for themselves, and understand exactly how the product supports both customer needs and retail margins. Stockists can expect shelf-ready, fully recyclable packaging, along with strong point-of-sale support.
With a minimum order quantity of just 12 units, SealStop is an accessible opportunity for both independents and larger chains alike. Manufactured and assembled in the UK, lead times are short, and stock is held locally, making fulfilment smooth and responsive.
As the brand looks ahead to the 2026 season, new developments are already in the pipeline, including a specialised holder designed to make SealStop even easier to use with hot tubs, ice baths and larger outdoor containers.
