Apologies if there’s a better sub for this question! (Lmk if so)

But I just picked these up at a random corner store with sidewalk plants, no label and the woman didn’t know (I live in Brooklyn, this is normal lol)

Are they the same plant? Different variety of the same it looks like to me.

Also any tips on how to care for them is greatly appreciated!

Aren’t they gorgeous though? I couldn’t resist for $10 a pop.

    Prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura).

Maranta. There are many different varieties! I have one that’s 16 years old. I water when it looks droopy (I soak mine then let drain fully) and you can cut the leaves below the nodes when it gets too long, put them in water, and they will grow roots. Repot and soon you’ll have 10 marantas and start collecting different colors. Have fun!

lemon lime and red marantas 🙂 i have both of these as well. they’re kinda known to be finicky but mine have been doing great! i have them under some cheap walmart grow lights and humidity tends to be around 50%. i’ve heard a lot of people say to use distilled water but mine do just fine with tap water. they don’t like getting totally dry though so i try to water when the top couple inches of soil is dry. yours are very nice! good luck with them

Native to Brazil, I think I remember? Years ago I had one by my bathroom window. It loved the humidity!

As others have said, Maranta! I love them, but man so do mites of literally every sort, and I really wish they’d all just leave my dang maranta alone… 😠

Think I need to try my hand at these

The green one is a Lemon Lime Maranta and I’m pretty sure the red one is just a Red Maranta! Very lovely girls when they want to be nice and be alive 😂😮‍💨
