Tons of seeds on those bad boys. Just keep pulling.

Spurge, a type of euphorbia. You can tell due to the white milky liquid that comes out when you break a stem open.
Easy enough to control just use a garden fork or if you prefer a hori hori knife and dig them out being sure to get as much root as possible. There should be a fairly long (easy to pull) taproot.
Long term, look around at neighbour driveways/walkways as they can often get missed and then seed over to your property.

Yeah. They suck. They seem to thrive on no rain.
Don-Gunvalson
Spurge, it seeds easily and seeds a lot. You have to pull them out and get the tap root. Also want to pull them before they start to flower/seed.
ThrillHouse802
You’ll always be fighting a losing battle with them. Just have to stay at it with pulling them out.
Tenma159
A kind of spurge. I got a ton of them and kept pulling but when I did, the seeds just dispersed anyway. Any weed killer spray would do them in too.
GinaM285
They are EVERYWHERE in my neighborhood!
BillZZ7777
Wear gloves with that. And carry a bucket and go directly into the bucket. The more movement, the more seeds you’re spreading.

Spotted spurge.

These sprout up all the time in our gardens. I just keep pulling always trying to get the root. As far as weeds are concerned, these are easy to deal with.

Spurge. If you pull them, you have to get all of the Taproot, or they will grow back. Also, they’re prolific seed producers, so chances are that when you pull them, your going to spread their seeds. In a flower bed, I usually spray them with glyphosate and if it really bothers me, I’ll use a pre-emergent to prevent them.

Spotted spurge. Spray 30% alcohol on them.

There’s nothing you can be sure doesn’t come back.
Mammoth_Tension_2416
Spurge the scourge… Only saving grace is how easy they are to pull up. Pull them consistently for a few years and life is easier.
Eric4reddit2022
I use a propane weed torch that I bought on Amazon.
Signal_Pattern_2063
There’s no fool proof way to make sure they don’t come back. Weeding is a process not a one time event.
luckyjicama89
Unless you want your whole yard and mulch bed to be filled with them, you should remove them asap. Most people with lawns treat them with weedkiller because they will outcompete their grass. These bad boys are going to blow seeds everywhere. For your neighbors sake, remove or kill them. There’s a product called spurge killer that I suggest using; if you pull them out by hand they will drop seeds for next season
Educational_Ad6146
Those are NO NO WEEDS PULL ALL OF THEM ASAP every 5 days pull!!!!
Affectionate-Drink15
Don’t fight it, you can’t win. Fight it, you don’t have a choice.

They possibly came in on your mulch.
You mix disturbance related to landscaping, reduction of native plant cover, reduction of canopy shade, and overall a stressful environment and you filter away all the other plants that could have been there leaving only spurge and other weeds.
So consider how to restore elements of a previous ecosystem, replant canopy ( short or overhead) and actively remove weeds and you may get back to less weed pressure.

These are terrible. They are all over my lawn and even somehow make it into my raised beds and pots. The will thrive any and everywhere

They are so satisfying to pull from mulch though
