Having some guys do a TON of weedwacking around the property today. Is this enough stuff to keep em happy for maybe 5 hours of work (plus pay of course)?
What else should I have gotten them? I can always run to the store and grab more stuff. If they work later than lunch, pizza is the obvious choice too.
My wife thinks I’m weird though and says it’s overkill. Idk. I used to do this many moons ago, and it’s hard work.

Good choices. Something for everyone.

You’re doing too much imo
CorbuGlasses
If you’re also paying them then this is more than enough. They’ll be very happy
Cool-Clue-4236
Very generous.
Serpentongue
Why is it your responsibility to keep them happy? You’re paying for a service, just let them work and leave.
Braska_the_Third
Maybe get some chapstick, because short of a sloppy blowjob that’s already an overboard dream.
Original_Throat1072
Getting paid usually keeps me happy for doing work. All that would be unexpected, and in my mind, unnecessary. But I know Americans love to tip for everything. So you do you!
Warm-Lingonberry-111
Very kind of you!
happyjazzycook
We did this sort of things a few times then stopped. Didn’t notice any sort of appreciation for the efforts, including a couple of times actually realizing that they did less than what was contracted. And never returned to finish. Now I just put out water in ice and that’s it. They are being paid for a service already.

You’re a saint. Yes.
DirtbagNaturalist
Ask if they want pizza or cold subs. Hot work days when I was young, that cold cut combo changed my life.
well__enough
I’d send you butt pics if you left me this spread, yes.
One-21-Gigawatts
I’d be a little weirded out by this, honestly
psyguy45
I usually leave a little pile of cocaine out so they can get a little energy boost when they need it. And some fentanyl to deal with any sore muscles at the end of the shift

Gonna be there 8 hours today.

Feeling trolled. My boys get a granola bar and a cup of coffee lol
WhoKnowsMaybeOneDay
My guys usually want a lunch plate and a Pepsi.

Definitely overkill. When I was a delivery driver delivering to restaurants I use to love when they would offer a drink or food. Just the Gatorade alone would have been a great gesture. But you do you, if it makes you happy and I’m sure it makes them happy then who cares
Coolbreeze1989
I have always kept a cooler of cold drinks (esp Gatorade) available – I’m in Texas so it gets HOT. Definitely no beer as reputable companies should have a zero tolerance for employees drinking on a job site/driving home. Long projects with guys who appreciated the drinks will absolutely get treats added for subsequent days!

So weird that being kind to people can be overkill. Who cares, you do what you think is right. Those guys are going to be so happy.
Dsknifehand
You’re a good person
Kawboy17
One would think that’s good !! Very awesome to be that caring of them 👍

I couldn’t even imagine someone doing this. Nice work OP!

Always my favorite customers. The ones with snackies
Apprehensive_Bit_176
… you hiring?
secondphase
Lol… I was just on r/daddit and thought i was still there. I was about to say the snacks are great, but you shouldn’t pay anything. Kids should contribute to chores.
Hanox13
That’s very kind of you, most folks wouldn’t even offer water from the hose.

I hide in the house when the landscapers come
Chainsawcelt
You’re a saint mate. They’ve very lucky

Not overkill. You’re the type of customer anyone doing manual labor hopes for. Some people won’t even offer the hose when it’s a 100 degrees out
HurryRunOops
Do you want them to work or talk?

the mean comments in here are bizarre. i’m glad to know you are out there being kind!

If your paying them as well, this is a really nice gesture. Thank you! I’ll never forget when I laid brick during summers in college. 96 degree day and I asked a homeowner if I might be able to refill my water thermos. He pointed to the hose arouse the side of the house. Very wealthy guy. Always stuck with me. On a side note- people tend to work a bit harder and care more when they are appreciated. I hope those weeds are a thing of a past by this afternoon!

Might as well pay them and just cut your own grass.

Not enough. Let them have a night with your wife

I wouldn’t make a habit of doing this. I’ve worked landscaping or similar jobs for awhile and I can tell you some dudes are just looking for an excuse to cut corners. Worker 1 “looks like you missed a spot”
Worker 2 “this guy left us snacks and a cooler I don’t think he gonna mind if I miss a spot or two”
Take your kindness for weakness situation

5 hours of weed whacking. I’m trying to imagine how big your property is. You are being very generous. Kudos to you. Many people wouldn’t even leave water out for them.
OracleofWashMO
I see not one fucking beer! Are these “guys” gonna be using battery operated weedeaters? Gas weedeaters require at least 3 beers to safely operate, just sayin😉
