Mike Gardener has been promoted to managing director at Prestige Offices set to begin with immediate effect.
Currently, an executive consultant at Prestige Offices, he will oversee the London office space agency’s transition to flexible workspace brokerage.
The firm announced, in February 2023, its intention to pivot from a traditional office agency focused on brokering leased office space to one specialising in flexible workspace solutions, including managed office space, serviced offices and other forms of flexibly leased business space.
Whilst still serving clients requiring leasehold office space to rent, the firm has evolved with the London market to focus on flexible workspace solutions, specifically high-end products that offer five-star amenities and first-class client service.
Mike Gardener said: “I am excited to take on this role and continue to help guide the firm as it evolves from a traditional London office space agency to one that specialises in premium flexible workspace solutions within the capital, whilst still serving clients seeking offices on conventional terms.
“Although already in motion pre-2020 due to the increased appetite for flexibility in office occupancy agreements since the Great Recession, the decision to pivot fully to a flexible-focused agency was secured by the effects of lockdowns and was officially announced in February 2023.
“With occupiers becoming more mindful in terms of office footprint and the time of team members, we continue to observe a ‘flight to quality’ in office space choices. Businesses and organisations are tending to choose offices that stimulate productive collaboration while teams are together, and that offer a high-quality working environment that encourages people to come to the office when required.
“However, for many, this form of workplace design is relatively new, and there remains a level of uncertainty in the domestic and global economy, so flexible contracts as opposed to traditional leases continue to grow in popularity.”
Prestige Offices currently lists premium flexible workspaces in over 100 districts across central London.
