Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. My name is Leanne and welcome to Blackberry Rock Homestead where I garden raised beds. Um, and I am in zone 6B, seven, depending on which one you want to believe. For the planting zone, I have chickens, ducks, goats, and a few rabbits, which I’m not breeding anymore. Um, once they’re gone, they’re gone. That is my plan at least right now not to have rabbits. So today is Thursday in reality is Monday. Um I have decided to do something. Um and I’m going to bring you along as I do it. So, my goal for this week is to clean one of these beds out and of course add some more dirt and somehow get it prepared for next year. Um, because if I don’t prepare my garden now, I won’t have a garden next year. And I plan to do more gardening this year. I mean, next year better than I did this year. I know something told me I shouldn’t have gardened this year, which I understand. I think it’s because of my mama, but of course I did. I planted tomato plants. Um, so that is the goal for the garden for the rest of the year. I am going to start tearing it out. And of course, I will be harvesting the basil, putting it down. I’m going to work on one bed at a time, weeding it, and then after I get it weeded, I will be putting fresh dirt in there for next year. So, beds like this right here, this long bed back behind us, it does have flowers. I may designate this bed as a squash bed and of course flowers. Um maybe tomatoes if I get overabundance of tomato plants which you all know I will. Uh because I have the last few years. Um so I’m going to go ahead and clean this bed out as well and fill it with dirt, fresh more compost type dirt and clean around it better. Uh, at least that’s the goal. So, uh, on Thursdays it will be something garden related or something miscellaneous, whatever I decide to put up. Um, so there is that. So, on another note, um, and of course work on getting the rest of these beds how I want it and weeding that down there, weeding around the greenhouse. So, I could just put the plastic up. My plan is to order some clamps um until I get the money ahead to order the wiggle wire or a greenhouse company decides to promote let me promote their green houses. Um that is an idea. If anybody out there is watching this, would you like me to promote their your greenhouse company? Um, and I would not be able to I may be able to buy a little bit but not a whole lot. So, with that being said, let’s move on to because this is the first miscellaneous Thursday, there’s the garden update. So, let’s move on to something else. So, hobby had this bright idea. Hopefully, it’ll work where the chickens can be automatically fed. So, I’m going to go to town today as of this filming, and I will be um putting uh getting some corn shots because that is what I feed my chickens. I may get a little bit of egg crumbles. I’m not 100% sure depending on the price. And then we’re going to fill this up and then set a timer where it feeds the chickens maybe at least once a day, maybe twice a day. Uh so and see how that works and hopefully it’ll do good. Just saying. Uh we borrowed this from a friend. It does have a solar little solar biller. So we’ll just see how that works. We will try it out tomorrow. Um hubby wants me to feel it. Uh I’m short. I’m scared of height. So that’s going to be an interesting feat. And hubby is going to drive a post to kind of anchor it. Try to anchor it a little bit so in case we got a big windstorm, but he’s waiting on driving the post because we are super duper dry. We haven’t had rain for the whole month. Well, we had a little bit, but not enough to do anything. Uh, so we’ll see how this works. So stay tuned. And while we’re on and I see my goodies [Music] and I’m in the middle of deciding who to breed and who not to breed on the goats. Uh just this is Jack and Gil. They are available. Little Jack has the less white on it. He is a weather. That means I I banded him. He no longer has his junk in the trunk, so to speak. Um, but man, look at him eating those bachelor buttons. That’s what them are. They’re the wild bachelor buttons. So, these two go in and out of the pan and rumble and and go everywhere. Uh, but stay tuned for my plan for the goat breeding season because it is around the corner. So that is it for today. So see y’all later. God bless.
