Do you think I can marcotte / air layer this lychee tree given its size? Rare type I don’t want to risk it dying and not having a backup :/ please help and any tips are appreciated.

Thinking I might try marcotting it where I have highlighted in yellow, any thoughts? Is it too young? Thanks
