Having moved into his stunning Grade II-listed house over two decades ago, it has recently been revealed that the former Gardeners’ World star is set to move to pastures new as he looks to find somewhere closer to his wider family.

Over the years, the Hampshire-based mansion has been front and centre of some of the star’s most loved horticulture shows, playing a prominent role during his time presenting Gardeners’ World from the mid-1990s.

In more recent times, we have also seen the horticulturist take to YouTube, with his stunning garden often providing the backdrop for his latest advice and gardening best practices.

However, despite moving into the property in 2002, it has been revealed in recent days that he is set to move to a new address, with the home currently on sale for a whopping £3.95 million.

Amid its impending sale, Alan has previously spoken of how the home still has a touching feature that harks back to when his two daughters were still living at home.

During a recent interview with The Times, he told the outlet: “They’ve got their own houses now, their own husbands, their own children – the oldest is 13 and the youngest is 9. But their rooms are still here and they’ve still got their names on the door.”

The stunning property, located on Church Lane, Holybourne in Hampshire, boasts five bedrooms, incredible views of the Hampshire countryside, and even its own 42-ft party barn and theatre space.

With it currently listed on Savills’ website for nearly £4 million, it unpredictably features a 4-acre garden.

According to their website, the garden has a number of striking features: “A wide York stone terrace wraps around the property with steps down to more formal gardens featuring a wealth of mature trees, well-stocked borders, striking topiary, and spectacular water features and fountains. Neatly manicured lawns are punctuated by tree-lined paths, and a summer house provides useful shade.”

Away from his plans to sell his multi-million-pound property, Alan has become one of the most well-respected names in the world of gardening over the years.

Having appeared on BBC programmes Nationwide and Breakfast Time, he is possibly best known for his time presenting Gardeners’ World from 1996 to 2002, when the role was taken over by Monty Don.

Alan is set to return to our screens tomorrow morning (Saturday, September 13) with Love Your Garden at 9.30 a.m. on ITV.
