Hello and thank you in advance for the tips. We received this peace lily about a week ago as a gift. We watered it a little and m put it in a place with lots of indirect light. But it seems to be dying. How can we revive it?

My guess would be that it needs a deeper water. Peace lilies droop very dramatically when they’re dry. Within 36 hours of a good soak, it will likely perk back up.

You said you just received it a week ago? There are 4 things I can think of that may be the issue.

    1) They’re finicky about their water. If you’re using tap, make sure that it sits out for 24 hours first to allow any chlorine to evaporate off. If you can use filtered, distilled, or RO water, that’s preferable.
    2) Check the soil to see if it’s still damp when you insert your finger up to the second knuckle. If not, it’s probably just due for another water. You might just have underestimated how often it needs watering and it might need it more frequently than previously anticipated.
    3) As pretty big drama babies, peace lilies also tend to throw tantrums when they move to their new homes. It might just be going through an adjustment period and just needs a few days or weeks to get back to normal. Just keep doing what you’re doing and it’ll be fine soon enough.
    4) The last, but least likely, option is that it might be in need of a repot because it has already outgrown its current pot. That said, if you suspect that might be the case, I would recommend holding off on a repot for another week or two to give the plant a bit more time to adapt to its new surroundings. Once you do a repot you’ll get a repeat of the the flop over tantrum for a few more days/weeks, so it’s better to give the plant some recuperation time before reshocking it.

i’m thinking because you said you watered it “a little” that you only gave it a small amount of water. if it’s in a pot with drainage holes at the bottom, soak the soil with water, then water again when you notice the leaves start to droop a little bit (probably around once a week but don’t schedule watering, just do it based on the plants needs). watering is all about frequency, not quantity

These plants like a lot of water and shade indirect sunlight and that thing needs water that’s what it needs a lot of it. At this point it’s probably hydrophobic so when you water it the water is going to run to the outside and down the sides of the pot and out of the plant and not get water. Take a skewer or something and just poke some holes in the middle and make sure when you water it when you’re done that it feels heavy if it doesn’t feel heavy you’re not done watering it.

Dramatic & thirsty. Water until it comes out drainage holes. Flowers die naturally.

Water it immediately and see after 6 hours.
Leaves will become un dropy and healthy.
