Thank you especially for the careful rose deading explanation.
Laura, don’t you just have to pinch yourself once in a while. Just imagining this is your home and you & Aaron have planted everything … every plant and tree almost.
mullions
Totally agree these hydrangeas are fabulous plants and also they almost glow white at certain times after 6vat night here.
Mulligans
👍👍👍
Love the entrance ! Stunning! But I think you need some negative space around the hydrangea & boxwood. ❤️
Suggest your pathway to the new package drop off house be wide enough to back up the gator in case your packages are heavy. Entrance looks sweet
Looks wonderful, oh i wish i had a Paul( garden fairy) that comes in behind and works his magic and buttons off everything, a true blessing to your team , you rock Paul!
You stated that you were looking for low maintenance at the entrance and you planted more boxwoods. You must have hundreds of boxwoods on your property and don't they have to be trimmed several times during the growing season. That seems like a lot of maintenance to me. It's a good thing you have all the hired help. Why not incorporate some boulders that requires no maintenance at all?
Hope they never try to race a train 😮
Am I correct that you spaced the boxwoods around 15” apart? Why 15” if they get 3’ wide?
I absolutely love amendments done to the front lawn. Roses look gorgeous. I ll be puttering in my little garden hopefully tomorrow if my ailments and the weather leave me alone. Thanks Laura
Laura, can you grow peonies in your area? I think the foliage is pretty even after they quit blooming.
I vote for lavender lining the pathway to the mailhouse. It would make it so cottagey.
When the soil is that hard do you worry about the plants being able to push roots? Thank you for your beautiful channel ❤
Your entrance so grand and gorgeous! I’m always envious of all of those Zone 8 plants. (I’m zone 9b)
What about a 'Rising Fire' columnar Hornbeam for your trees up front…?
One day there will be no garden, only Supertunia Vista Bubble Gum everywhere. And I'm here for it. A gardener's alien invader film.
I don't know what you would do if you ran that well dry of yours I would think you would run everybody else as well dry.
I like this set up.
you could do small matching fountains instead of trees as well 😊
Entry is looking spectacular! ❤
Beyond Stunning 😊
window grilles
Looking amazing! But!! Why the big space between the brick pillar and the black gate post? It bugs me lol
Will all the driveways be edged with brick at some point?
The grids in the windows are called muntins
Hi I think one of the plants(sorry not sure of name) you both like with the beautiful smell and large flowers on would be pretty where you have the large sticks in the ground x
🌸🌻
Mullions…they’re called mullions
How do you not put your hair up when your working
This area is now added to my top ten list of areas in your garden.love it. Question: What alternatives can I use to replicate this in my own garden that will be more budget friendly? Maybe on a smaller scale. Can you think of any alternatives? Maybe that can even be grown from seed?
You mentioned your Chaste Tree about to bloom again, I have one I planted a few years ago, but it only blooms once for a couple weeks, are you dead heading yours to get it to rebloom? I planted it, not just because it’s so pretty, but because I had read that it bloomed spring/summer, I thought it had a long blooming season, unfortunately it does not for me
( So Jersey 7a if that matters)
Those hydrangeas are awful. Stop too many.
Why not save those rose clippings and grow more from them?
You are so cute!! [The strips on a window that create the appearance of separate panes of glass are called grids, grilles, or muntins.] I always understood them to help the birds NOT to fly into a window (something that happens a lot around here—Nevada)
Laura, got her stick😂
In my opinion…😊
I think you should have a landing PAD that is atlease 3 to 4 ft long but at lease as wide as the whole Mail house edge to edge or larger and a path going to your mail, should be as wide as the mail house door.
That way if a large or multiple packages come. The delivery person will have somewhere to place your packages down. Somewhere they can set their dolly to the side, so that it will not be in the way.
Then that will allow the delivery person to maneuver or place your packages inside of the mail house.
Also that will also give them plenty of room to turn the dolly around comfortably without feeling cramped.
Remember the dollies are about just over 4 ft long plus the length of the person arm.
If you have a dolly maybe you guys should try to deliver a package to yourself. Maybe that would help determine how wide of a path and landing pad that you might need.
Your front gate entrance presentation is stunning!
I’m excited to see the space as it matures. Do you think you will ever add brick edging in front of the boxwoods or paved the driveway?
Hi Laura! Wondering why you guys don’t use a soil conditioner mixed in to your native soil when it’s so compacted? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Just “fussing” in the garden is the best. I love making plants look their best.
Watch out for the door swing on the shed and how close you might want to plant the boxwoods.
I’ll bet in your wildest dreams you never imagined all of this when you bought your house! I’m loving taking this awesome journey with you vicariously. 😍
