Just did some grass maintenance on the okra. Went all the way down. I’mma do the peas next. You see all this little bit of grass? If you if you don’t take care of that grass while it’s small and you wait till it get big, you going to be in trouble, Jay. But uh I just did all okra. That’s all. This all the peas on this side. So, uh, I know it’s time to plant your greens and stuff. So, I got this I got this whole lane right here. I’mma clean this here lane up right here. Pull all these dead cucumber vines up. And uh, I’mma clean this lane up right here. And I’mma plant some greens over here right here on this lane right here all the way down. Then right here I got this gap right here. You can see where that that water or the rain and made that trench right there. So, in between in between my oak and the peas right here, I got this gap right here. And I’mma use this gap right here. I’mma go all the way down and plant some uh some cabbage. I’mma space them out. I’m going just plant one one seed a hole. Probably like a foot or two a foot or two apart. And uh I’m not going to mess with the peas. I’mma give them a chance to grow up and see uh see what’s going to happen. Somebody made a comment say, “Man, them peas ain’t going to come up before the first frost.” I don’t know. You might be right, man. But we in Texas, man, so you never know. We l not get no frost till January. So you never know, man. But uh got the garden ready to be planted. Um I made a little row right here. Probably put some cabbage right there. This row right here. These two little rows right here, I’mma put some uh collard greens. And this row right here, I’mma put some uh some mustards. Then I might make another I might make another little row closer to the fence over here. And what I’mma do over here where the peas at, everywhere I got a gap, I’mma stick a cabbage in there. See, like I got a gap right here. I’mma put a cabbage in there. I got a gap right here in the front. I’m see that piece start way back there. So I got all this right here. I’mma put stick some cabbages in there. Uh, so pretty much wherever I got a gap, that’s where I’mma stick a uh cabbage. See, like right here in this gap right here, I’mma stick a stick a couple cabbages in there. I got this gap right here. See the other the other pee way down there. So, I’mma stick a couple cabbages in there. So, everywhere I can find a gap, that’s where I’m going to put a cabbage. Then when you get back here, I got all this space back here. I’mma put a cabbage in. All this space right here. I’mma stick some cabbage in there. I got a couple pea pea plants growing on the end down there. That’s how I’mma have to do it because everything already planted. So, the reason why the garden look like this is because I’ve been doing some grass maintenance. I can’t stand all that grass in my garden. So, you got to tackle that grass when it first start coming up. Let me show y’all what I’ve been spraying on the plants. So, this the stuff I’ve been spraying on the plants right here. So it supposed to be organic. So that’s why I’ve been using it. So this what I’ve been spraying right here. Keep them caterpillars off for your leaves and stuff. But other than that, going to see what this old garden going to do this year for the fall. I’m getting it ready. So on the fence, I came out here and I was walking around the fence and I heard some zapping noise, some arcing noise. So I was like, “What is that noise?” So I walked around the fence. I found a couple spots that had been arcing. And uh I fixed that. And uh when I fixed that, I came out here and test it. And now all the lights on all three wires are coming on. All the lights are coming on on all the wire. So it’s ready. Freddy now. You touch it now. You going to do the James Brown. Yo yo yo. What’s happening y’all? Back out here in the garden. Going to see if I can get a couple cabbages in today. Trying to wait till that sun went down a little bit. These last couple of days, man, it just been hot, man. This cabbage right here is called Copenhagen. I got a little tip from a from a old school gardener. And uh I wasn’t going to share it with y’all until I found out how it actually worked. But I know some of y’all going to want to know. So, he told me about this stuff right here. So, I’m going to try it. See if it work. Told me to just put a little bit in the hole with the seed and cover it up. So, that’s what we f to do. That’s what we f to do. So, if any any of y’all out there ever used this here before, I’m sure you already know about it. So, going to get started. Should have got me a little cup. So, we’re going to plant these cabbage. We going to start these cabbages out. little bitty hole. I ain’t I’m not going to cover them up that much. Going to put them like a foot apart. Is this a foot? Yeah, that’s that’s a little over a foot, but that’s how I want it. So, a little over a foot. So, we going to do it like this here. So, we going to go knock these out right quick. So, I’mma put I’mma put two seeds in each hole just case. I would put three Y’all think I should put two or three. It’s supposed to be three, but I’m going to put two seeds in these holes. Be on the safe side. But one thing I found out about cabbages and greens is that uh you can’t rush them. You got to take your time with them. Got to take your time with them. Can’t rush and rush and try to plant them and get them in the ground. Got to take your time with it. So he said he just take the tip the tip of a teaspoon. So I already got it mar. So I’m going just put a little bit on the tip and drop it in that hole. about like that and just drop it in that hole. That’s all I’mma do. Some of y’all might use more I don’t know. I’m just going about what old what I was told to do. I need to put a little bit more in this. Yeah, that’s how we going to do it. That’s how we going to start it out. Then just going to lightly cover it up. [Music] I’m not I’mma push some of this dirt off of it. I’m not even going to cover it up all the way. I push some of that I push some of that dirt off of off of. So, just going to barely cover it up. because I don’t want to plant them too deep. I want to get that seed room to germinate and come on up out this hole. I don’t want to plant it too deep. So, we going to get these going to get these in the hole. Two seeds. Oh, and this is bone. This is bone meal, by the way, if I didn’t say the name. Bone meal Is it Don’t plant them too deep. We got room for one more right here. You know what? That’s going to be too close to that. It’s going to be too close to that piece. So we going to stop him right here. Stop him right here. So that’s one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, five, six. That’s six cabbages. So thinking about planting six more right here. I know I said I was going to do the uh I was going to do the collard greens on this whole row, but I still got that half a row right there. So, I’mma do collard greens going back that way and on that half a row. But I’m going to put six more cabbages right here. So, we’re going to do that. All right. Super good. All right, we ready, Freddy. Thinking something different. I know. I was going to put a cabbage in each one of them gaps. [Music] Now that I got six right here and six right here, I kind of want to put six right here. You know what? I’m I’mma put six more right here. So that way they all be together. All right. So, I know I said I was going to put cabbages in these gaps. So, I still might do that, too. But, uh I’m going to go plant some more cabbage down on that end. where that big gap at down there. Then up here, got six right here, six right there, six right there. So that’s 18. And uh that’s all we’re going to do on the cabbage for right now. So everything else going to be college and mustards. So, I’mma put some uh some college right here. I don’t know if I’m going to do it tonight or or tomorrow. I supposed to be riding up to the country tomorrow, check on some deer feeders and uh hang cameras up. So, I might work on it tonight and go and get it done in the dark. But, we’ll see. On your cabbage and collgreen need to be one plenty per row. I be doing my as well in two weeks. After I'm done picking my pea 🫛. I do this every year from about 30 years.

The shipping company I worked for dealt with a lot of items headed to Alaska and Canada. We used to ship tons of bone meal to them. It's something about it because we stayed with it on our lists

Hey there, forgive me for not giving this advice when I first saw you starting your garden. The best fertilizer is free for you because you go fishing. That's your bone meal and all other nutrients in it. So, whatever scraps you have after you clean your fish, blend it finely and include it with your plants. Same after hunting, use those bones for broth and or cook them bone down till they are really soft and fall apart. Then you can grind those bones up to use in planting. Stop spending money for things you can use because you already have it. Read the ingredients on that bottle of spray and look it up. If it's not natural and you can't pronounce it throw it out! Neem oil is good but you have to be careful, it's really potent. Maybe some lime in the bays or you could brace and cover them. That's all I got for now.

That mushroom can get to be as big as a soccer ball. They are called puffballs. As long as the inside is white, they are edible. I make French toast with them. I did a video on my page.
