    I’m about 99.9% sure that’s a monstera deliciosa, not a philodendron

In the case of the Philodendron with fenestrations…

    Well, I think it’s a good 🤔 thing

  4. monpittphy

Sir that is a monstera (looks like there’s actually 2 in there)

  5. Affectionate_Year444

    that’s bc it’s a monstera!

  6. MaleficentTomatoes

It’s a monstera my friend! Juvenile ones like this will only pop out fenestrations when it’s real happy, and as it matures. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing because it’s clearly working.

My monstera looks like your philodendron 😉

  8. Starbreiz

My monstera was sold as a philo too 😉

  9. Lol i also had the same confusion as you, but opposite. I thought a cutting I got was a monstera but it turned out to be a philodendron

    Wait for it…..r/houseplantcirclejerk

Congrats!!! I grew my monstera from a single stem without even a leaf, and the first 5-6 leaves weren’t fenestrated. I remember my excitement when it grew its first fenestrated leaf!!

Looks like she’s getting enough light, so a bigger pot and some fertilizer (I just use miracle grow…dunno how the sub feels about it) and she’ll start poppin em up every other week!!!

Mines getting up to my shoulders

  13. FireMama420

Monstera. But someone earlier this week had one that they had purchased mislabeled as a philodendron as well!

  14. denialden

How do you differentiate between a philo and an un/non fenestrated monsters?

  15. Front_Tell1153

Congrats! I was so excited for you I missed the monstera vs Philo piece that others pointed out! Lol. It’s so exciting when it happens!

  16. Due_Conversation_295

This gave me a little giggle lol

Google images of Monstera mature in nature. You’ll be fascinated, it’s one of my personal favorite families. So many neat ones! 💚

  18. NotYourAverageBeer

    Defenestrate that philodendron! (probably monstera(

  19. madame-olga

Monsteras are often sold as “split leaf philodendrons”. This one seems very happy and it’s very pretty! Looks like it has two in there, actually! Pop her onto a moss pole and she’ll be even happier 🤩

  20. woody_2k

Split those down before you do any reporting. There are about 3 or 4 separate plants in there and each one will get big

  21. Beginning-Yam1086

Philodendron looks more like pothos imo I think you have a monstera

  22. SatinJerk

Omg we have the same plant at the same growth stage and the same plant stand 😭 AND I ALSO HAVE A GREEN VASE BEHIND MINE and a spider plant next to it. ARE WE TWINS??

  23. GlitteringBluejay791

Lol I thought this was r/houseplantcirclejerk for a sec. Yea that’s a monstera OP

  24. PuzzleheadedBrief311

I think that’s a Split Leaf Philodendron. Congratulations on the fenstration!
