Rescued a broken stem from a friends plant. It took and grew a bit but now all leaves have these spots. My gut says overwatering but wanted to see if anyone had alternative ideas? I regularly struggle with this plant and have never kept one growing. 😡
I bottom water when they feel dry but I think the soil might be holding more than ideal. Still damp several days after watering.
In an east facing window, gets morning sun and bright indirect light rest of the day.

I bought one few days ago, but I kept in the same soil from the shop. I am also worried about overwatering, but I red that it also likes hydroponics. Which IMO it’s so easy to handle. In case your still facing this issue with the leaves I suggest that
If you get water on the leaves, they can brown if not dried off quickly. I keep most of mine outside and there’s always a breeze so I can get by with top watering and getting the leaves wet. For my inside plants, I make sure to keep the leaves dry. It looks like you may be overwatering because the leaves at the top are browning. I plant all of my plants in well draining chunky soil (mix of orchid bark, large perlite, charcoal chunks, leca/pumice, coco chunks and Fox Farms Soil Conditioner) so they don’t retain too much moisture and only water when the soil starts to dry out pretty good. I only have 5 different kinds of tradescantia (including nanouk) but all seem to have the same care requirements in my experience. Also, many of my outdoor trads are planted in fabric grow bags which also helps them to dry out more quickly and prevent root rot.
Browning caused by water on the leaves is the strangest thing to me. I have tradescantia growing around my tree and in my flower bed. It gets wet from rain all the time.
