Mark Sable, a gardener, lost approximately £3,000 worth of equipment including hedge cutters, mowers and a host of electrical and diesel tools when his trailer was taken from his drive in Carisbrooke Avenue, Warndon Villages.

The theft took place at some point overnight between Tuesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 10.

His partner Myra Morgan said the trailer was parked next to their car in a private drive hidden around a corner.

His wife suspects Mr Sable had been watched coming home numerous times before the theft took place.

The 71-year-old said: “It was parked right in front of our double garage, we’re just amazed.

“He is extremely upset and knocked back quite a bit.”

Mr Sable, who has been a landscape gardener since he was 16 years old, has had to cancel work as a result of the missing equipment.

He holds contracts across Worcestershire with some properties he works on valued at up to £1million.

She added: “With the contracts that he has got going on, it’s going to have a big effect on him.

“He’s got accountants to pay, taxes to pay and people that work with him that use his tools and he has to pay.

“It’s very difficult. He has got to buy new equipment and a new trailer.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We received a call around 1.40am yesterday morning (Wednesday 10 September) with a report of the theft of a trailer from a property on Carisbrooke Avenue in Worcester.

 “Enquiries are on-going.”
