Police are investigating after a woman was shot during an incident that happened Philly’s Spring Garden section on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

According to police, a 51-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks during an incident that happened at about 2:05 p.m. along the 1700 block of Mount Vernon Street.

The woman, officials said, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

A neighbor who heard the shooting told NBC10 that she believed the shooting happened as a result of a fight.

“There’s like yelling and screaming and I was like, ‘I really do hope everything’s okay,'” she said.

Navin Ekezue, a neighbor who lives in the area, noted that she heard shouting from an argument overnight hours prior to the shooting, as well.

Also, she heard at least two gunshots when the incident occurred.

“This is kind of, really shocking,” Ekezue said.

Police have arrested a women in this incident and a weapon was recovered at the scene, officials said.

An investigation into this shooting, police said, is ongoing.
