Hey everybody, it’s Frankie Lou. I’m planting up a new garden bed today. First, I’m transplanting onion seedlings into five rows. Next, I’m going to dig into some of these carrot seed heads that I harvested. Carrots and onions make excellent companion plants for each other. I’m using three different colors of carrots here. Next, I’m going to use two different kinds of lettuce seeds that I’ve harvested. Lettuce seeds look a little like mini dandelions. Next into the bowl goes one of my favorite greens, or ash. This stuff is so hearty and productive. Pollinator friendly merry golds and kindilla seeds are going into the mix, too. Last of all, I’m going to put in a few of my radish pods. Radish flowers make excellent companion plants, too. These seeds work really well together, and it’s super rewarding to use ones that I’ve harvested myself. Now, for a little chaos planting, everything doesn’t have to be tidy to be productive. You’re setting up the seeds. It’s important to water in really well and use mulch to keep consistent moisture for germination. It’s so great being able to grow and harvest food year round at the greenhouse in the sky.

Did you have to cover your seed concoction?
