Planted this area approx 9 months ago with a variety of natives /naturalised plants.

The hibiscus sabadiffra and hibiscus heterophyllis are going crazy ( made a few jars of amazing jam). As is the cat's whiskers / Orthosiphon aristatus.

I put a few different grevillea and callistemon varieties, which aren't thriving. They're not dying, but not growing any bigger than they started.

Not sure what this says about my soil and conditions, and whether I should keep them in or replace them with something else that will thrive?

Amongst the rest is a few native grasses and some Brisbane Wattle/Acacia fimbriata and Melaleuca thymifolia.

Love it !! Gunna look even more awesome in a few years. I’ve always loved the rusted steel edging too

It looks so good! I’m jealous. I’m about to do the same.

In terms of the grevillias and callistimons, I’ve heard they are slow to get going (can take up to a full rotation of seasons) before they hook in and grow properly. So do t pull the plug just yet!

Looks great! I found the grevilleas and bottlebrushes in my garden did nothing for the first couple of years, then grew like crazy and started constantly flowering. Might just take some time ☺️

nice really inspiring. I am in the process of doing something similar. Have you observed any fauna interacting with the plants? birds, insects?
