mom gave me, and it means a lot to me. It used to be really healthy and full of blooms, but I think I overdid the care and stressed it out, like moving it around too much. What can I do to help it recover? Any tips? I always water it from the saucer. It’s really hot where I live, so I keep it on the balcony in indirect light, since my place doesn’t get much natural light.
I’m also trying to root a cutting in water with a leaf, but does it look rotten to you? Unfortunately, the petiole broke. Do you think it could still grow roots?

Since you have a bare spot in the pot to avoid leaves right now, give it a flush. Put it in the sink and let a small stream of water run until it is soaked and the water is running out clear. (It will be brown or yellow at first. That’s excess build up being flushed out.) Just keep the water off the leaves.
Your leave prop looks like it’s rotting. To root, get a bottle of rooting hormone powder. It’s like $7 at the garden center or Walmart. Dip the stem in it, then plant in neutral seed starter soil that’s moist, but not too wet. Then put it in a ziploc bag, or plastic wrap over it with just a tiny gap or few holes to vent. Make sure the leaf doesn’t touch the sides. This will keep it moist and humid. Then mostly just leave it alone in indirect light. This is the best method I’ve used, with about 75% success rate.
