Every time she gains a new leaf, she loses another, shes large but single. I grow her hydroponically now as soil wasnt working out at all. What am i doing wrong?
Alocasias are pretty heavy feeders, are you adding hydroponic fertilizer when you water her? Other problem could be lighting. I’ve found that with hydroponics they tend to do well as long as they’re fed and have a good amount of light.

I have mine in semi-hydro and it usually holds onto 3-4 leaves. What are you feeding with? In my experience, it’s usually due to nutrients. Not enough fertilizer or cal-mag.

I agree with the others on fertilizer. My tandurusa started with two leaves. I kept it in soil and feed lightly every watering and it’s pushed two more out over the last couple of months without dropping any.
