Root Rot in my Florida Ghost Moss Pole

My Florida Ghost looks a little sad so I turned it around and it looks like it’s experiencing some root rot. How do I treat this without chopping the pole?? I’m willing to do that as a last resort but how do I treat for root rot while also keeping it in a pole??
