  1. I worked in a supermarket and when the fresh corn was delivered we all used to take in ear and eat it right on the dock. It was so good raw I love it.

  2. Young green beans or snap peas are also delicious raw, i imagine corn would be similar but more sweet and starchy and juicy

  3. We grew up eating raw sweet corn out of the garden. As an adult, I prefer to blanch it for a minute or two so that it’s nice and warm.

Over boiled corn is very sad, I agree with you there.

  4. I was admittedly a weird child but I used to eat raw sweetcorn in a bowl with red grape juice 😅 it followed along from fruit salad logic, it was sweet, why not?
Never occurred to me till now that people may have only ever eaten it cooked!
Wish my sweetcorn had done better this year😔

  5. Just don’t have too much of it in one go! The starches can negatively impact digestion as your body can’t process it.

It’s also a popular misconception that you can not eat dent corn while in the milking stage, as the sweet corn is. You can, just feel free to cook it. I did it with an old variety from my area and it was delicious. (Cockes prolific)

Corn is one if the most interesting plants around and if you haven’t tested growing it, seriously consider it, it’s a gem of a plant that really stands out in a garden.

  6. Can somebody help me understand the issue of only having half the cob wi thy kernels? He said it’s something to do with pollination? I had this problem this year , it’s a big slap to the face.

  7. I tried growing sweetcorn as a first-time grower but it was definitely way less than 16 plants. But my problem was that pests infested the inside of the ear. I don't know how they got under the husk.

  8. I harvested 30 ears couple weeks ago and a few more yesterday then….here you are this morning!!!!❤
    Love you, Huw!🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽

  9. Tried my first harvest this year I was impressed by the flavour when raw will definitely grow more next year.
Only some had a couple of purple nuggets in them…any clue as to whether it's due to cross pollination or its the type of seed. I only managed to grow yellow none of my coloured varieties germinated.

  10. If you're cooking it, boil it or bbq it in the leaves. When it's cooked the leaves and silks just slide off
