I recently planted this Royal Raindrop crabapple in place of my diseased redbud. I did my best not to bury the tree too deep and keep the flare exposed. I see a lot of roots coming out of one side of the flare and just wanted to make sure if they were ok to leave, or if they need to be covered with soil, or cut back?

Looks like Adventitious roots, the root flare could be below that, not entirely sure but that taper above the roots looks like where the nursery grew it from a cutting? The actual root flare could be below that?
All good, just don’t pile soil against the trunk
I am not certain, it was a 20 gallon tree and had about 2-3 inches of soil from the nursery that I removed to expose this taper/roots.
Ok awesome so do not add any soil and just leave them be?
Don’t cover the union. It could be an inch deeper at most, but it should be fine as is. It was in the container a little deep if you removed 3 inches and it looks like this. What you have done is great.
