A neighbor told me that there is a family that owns this property but they just recently got control of it after a member of their family passed. They haven’t been able to keep up with it and the grass has gotten crazy overgrown. The sidewalks and curbs are getting out of control and it’s all just a bit overwhelming for them. So, I thought I would get it cleaned up for the neighborhood and even got recognized by some of the neighbors while doing it!

You’re SB Mowing! Yeah. I watch you on YouTube! I’m talking to my brother and I’m like,
hey, Yeah! Man, it looks to be boarded shut. And they’ve got a board
holding this thing shut. I always like to make sure that someone’s not randomly living
here before I get started. Well, I guess we’ll go ahead and get this
one cleaned up for the neighborhood, because it’s looking pretty bad. Hey everyone, Spencer here with SB Mowing,
and this overgrown lawn caught my eye, so I thought I would go over to
investigate what was going on. But, when I went up to knock on the door, I saw that the front
door was boarded shut, so I thought I would try to talk
to a neighbor just to see the story behind the house. And that didn’t go too well because I
literally knocked on five or six different neighbors homes and nobody answered. So, since the front door was boarded
up and my intuition was telling me that it was vacant, I thought I would go ahead and clean
this one up for the neighborhood. And the cool thing is,
after getting it completely cleaned up, I was getting in my truck, ready to leave, when a neighbor pulled up to me
off camera and told me a little bit about the story behind the house. She was asking if I was the
city coming out to cut it, but I did explain to her that I just
come and do this stuff for free for homeowners or vacant houses, just to help people out
or help neighborhoods out. She did tell me that she knew the
owner of this house pretty well, but they ended up passing away
and the family hasn’t been able to keep up with the home. So, I’m just really glad I can get cleaned
up and just looking better overall. So, be sure to stay until the very end
of this video because you do not want to miss out on the before
and after pictures on this one. And also if you haven’t done so yet, go down below for me and

hope you have a great rest of your day, a great rest of your week,
and I’ll see you next Friday… SB Mowing out! You have like a YouTube
channel or something? Yeah, I make YouTube videos. You’re SB Mowing! I think somebody’s doing a YouTube video. Yeah. Well, good luck man. Thank you. I appreciate what you do. Alright everybody,
we just got finished up. I’m super happy to be done with this
one because I’ve been here since about 9am and it’s 4pm now and it
is like 103 degrees right now. So, I’ve just been sweating my butt
off this entire time but we got this looking way better. We got all the sidewalks uncovered
and we got the grass cut down. There’s a bunch of junk
on the front porch that I’m not going to do anything with. If it was a bunch of trash,
I would usually bag it up and throw it away. But there’s chairs, cones,
totes, and just a bunch of stuff I
don’t really want to deal with, but the main purpose of this
one is just getting it looking better for the neighborhood. I wasn’t able to talk to any neighbors. Nobody answered their door, but I just thought I
would go ahead and do it. Anyways, if you haven’t done so yet, go down below and click that subscribe
button for me as it’s really the best way to support this work that I do, and if you did want to support
my work just a little bit more, you can head over to sbmowing.com

Maruyama equipment over on my website sbmowing.com like my trimmer, my edger, and my blower. But anyways, I really hope you all enjoyed
this video and I hope you have a great rest of your day, a great rest of your week and we’ll see you next Friday… SB Mowing out! I think somebody’s doing a YouTube video. I watch you on YouTube! I’m talking to my brother and I’m like,
hey, I appreciate it. Do you really? Yeah Do you really?

  1. Spencer, if you were in my neighborhood, I would supply you with cold drinks and lunch! I love watching your videos! I am slowly losing my ability to do the weed eating , mowing and mulching but I’m not giving up without a fight! 😊 I had major back surgery last year so I’m pretty slow but I still love to do my yard work! ❤

  2. Would you do this if you weren’t making lots of money off of a YouTube channel?

Would you really help fix vulnerable people’s yards for FREE, and not post a video about it, and not seek recognition or praise or money via YouTube videos?

It’s like Jesus said, ““Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
    Matthew 6:1

  3. Love seeing the old brick streets. We have them here in Alabama. Imagine the time it took the bricklayers to make streets.

  4. I would so love to be driving past and see / recognize you to shout out "HEY SPENCER" or any youtuber cutting some one lawn. But it just wouldn't happen in my country unfortunately.

  5. I hate seeing abandoned run down homes that if kept up could house a family. Better affordable rent, than letting it crumble. Always the nicest lots, corner lots and big yards

  6. I thought if someone passed, probate court would make the family finalize the assets. Probate court is expensive I’ve heard.

  7. Was there anything you could do about the weed trees growing behind house. Wish we could have seen inbetween back of house and garages

  8. Honestly, lawns are a waste of life, it is better for the insects, the bugs and everything to have no lungs and just left wild growth, you can groom it and water it and take care of it and add some wild flowers and flowers around it, and make space is cleared to sit in or use, but if it was my house, I would leave all of that up and just edge it and clean it up and water it better and put some wildflowers in them. It would be a barrier against the neighbors and everything else, and I'd rather look at it than people or grass weeds are beautiful and essential for life, all the pesticides herbicides in Lawn care kill. Vainity. I would let it go wild and just edge it and turn it and keep everything fresh and tall and beautiful, helps air quality as well and stops killing people animals and insects necessary. Also creates a barrier around the house rather than boring lame grass

  9. I would love to have seen this neighborhood in its heyday when every house was a single family owned property that was owner occupied.

  10. Spencer you really should ware a mask when working in these yards! That dust is going in your lungs and can really affect your lungs! Please ware a mask?

  11. You did a great job, Spencer! I don't blame you for not wanting to clean off the mess on the porch. You did more than enough!

  12. Its hard to tell if this is the best these lawns will look. If the home owners dont have a Shindaiwa line trimmer or comparable line trimmer, a reel mower whether gas powered or old school push manual and a gas powered edger, will the majority of these lawns get mowed again or return to the same state?

  13. Curious, why don’t you mow all of the edges to get an easier time edging/trimming? I used to do lawn care and that’s how I did it so I’m interested in learning why you go the way you do.

  14. I just found your channel a few weeks ago. I enjoy watching your work. However, you should definitely be wearing a mask while you’re working. You are breathing in dirt, dust, and spores. Your lungs will thank you.
