I’ve had my basil plant since June and all the stems are turning woody. Is there anything I should do or will the plant keep growing?

My basil outside gets woody at the base & gets 4 ft tall, even clipping flower stalks off. I wouldn’t worry unless the plant suddenly wilted or something.

It’s not a Basil plant it’s actually about a dozen Basil plants that sadly never got separated and replanted in bigger pots.

Usually due to age, but it looks like some of your leaves are yellowing and/or burning too. Maybe fungal. Try to prune if it gets too top heavy or the woody stem keeps moving up

Start cloning them through cuttings. Infinite basil.

It’s a “corking” effect that many plants get as they mature. It’s normal and healthy
