Hello all, I have till then seated my entire backyard with micro clover seeds. While I have been watering, it has been a very dry month. My clovers are starting to sprout and I have been transplanting some lively ones with good roots which has helped. However the morning glories pictured above are everywhere and invasive. I can get all of them out in a day and there will be more of them the next. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the morning glories while not hurting my clovers. I heard using 30% vinegar on very specific places could help but I'm worried about killing the clovers. All advice appreciated!

  1. Unfortunately Morning Glory, aka Bindweed, is one of the most pervasive and successful weeds known to man. And it will like to wrap itself all around the clover.

It would be better to get more pictures and a fuller context of how bad the bindweed is around you. Did you throw down new soil where a bunch of bindweed existed and it’s made its way to the surface? Is it coming in from a fence line we can’t see?

With only the context provided I would recommend pulling the bindweed daily and keeping the clover low so you can quickly identify and pull the new bindweed. The more you pull the easier it’ll get. Taller clover bindweed will wrap itself around and be able to clover and the clover will actually help hide it.

Nothing can kill the morning glory that will not also kill the clover.

Except hand-pulling or pinching the morning glory off at the ground level.

Also, it looks like you may have jumping worms…
