Current state of my backyard located in north Texas. Moved into this current house in January. The yard was disaster, did not think my yard would look this good. I laid out weed and feed late March or early April, mow 1-2 times a week with my ryobi electric push mower (so wobbly). Neighbor gave me some nitrogen a little bit after the weed and feed to put down and that helped a lot. Now, still mowing 1-2 times a week, watering twice a week. I’ve noticed that I am getting more contrast of healthy/non-healthy patches, and more white/dead grass spots (cutting too low maybe?). I’m trying to figure out what kind need to do next to take it to the next level and make it even better.
Last two pictures are back from June.
All things considered I got a great patch of grass and great dog to enjoy it with. Thanks.

Give him more water so the spots look more uniform. I’ve heard if you build the dog a sod corner they will pee there instead
