hey all! extremely new to this as i have never once propagated anything ever. i had this happen and asked my ultra green thumb having mom and she didn’t have a clue either so here i am.
my fiancé got these carnations from a dierbergs grocery store like 2-ish weeks ago? (as of writing it’s been 1 week, 4days) anyway, i save the flowers he gets me by hanging them to dry out after about a week. well i noticed these flowers were lasting longer than usual and weren’t wilting terribly so, honestly, i completely forgot about them.
cut to now, i decided to go ahead and take them out and hang them but to my surprise there are these little shoots growing? the roses have obvi wilted and started to dry but the carnations are still green and soft. every single pink carnation has at least one shoot thing. i hung a couple that had the smallest shoots out to dry but i kept the rest in the vase how they were.
my question pretty much is; what are these?
