In my Nebraska backyard, fireflies are abundant – although many complain there are not as many these days. I love to sit out on my deck and watch them. It is truly magical. I've tried to video it – but I am no Camera Guy. 😉 I also have solar lights strategically placed around the yard for ambiance. In the fall (coming soon), it's fires in the fire pit with cedar logs. Love that pop/crackle and crazy good aroma. Great vid y'all – thank you!

I'm noticing up near Seattle, now that our max sun angle has dropped below 50 degrees, the sun is much less intense even though it's still been relatively warm.

Yes indeed, cleanup as you go. Nothing like coming back out he next day to the garden and knowing I have debris to tend to.
I have fireflies too. sometimes I have to dodge out their way or they'll fly right into my face. but it's nice seeing them. I did learn not rake my leaves once they fall so fireflies larvae can have someplace to over winter.
I'm team cleanup during, after, a day later, and a week later. Sometimes a few weeks. I fill the green waste bin then start making piles. Then the piles fill the bin each week until they're gone. I typically cut the large branches into smaller ones. Oh, the piles also dry out in the heat so more fits into the bin. I'll send the cooler weather your way. only 79 today.

You two make an awesome team ❤ I like to clean as I go, but I rent so tree service is included with gardening in front for now. I’m responsible for the backyard. I know about those privets! My ex husband used to go on and on about the privets being in the way. lol We had a lawn care business years ago. I’m praying 🙏 for a homestead/ farmer this time around. I would like dairy goats and chickens. We’ll see. 😊 Anyways, you both work hard. We all just play it by ear after all. Lovely night shots. I have solar lights strung all over the fences and stakes. I have a lizard in my garden, too by the mint plants. 💚💚💚😓 🪴🐝🌻🌻🌻
