NE Ohio. Lawn was full of crabgrass and other weeds. Hit it with a post-emergent mid July. Aerated and overseeded about a month ago with Lesco Estate Eagle Plus. First pic is today. 2nd is day of overseed. Had a heavy pop-up storm that I thought washed out a bunch of my seed, but ended up pretty happy.

I recommend putting the before photo first and the after photo second so it matches your title. This makes it look like overseeding killed your lawn and grew weeds

I see a ton of comments remarking on which picture should come first, etc etc. Anyone that can’t tell that the first picture is your “after” overseed is a moron. Your grass looks great and lush. I am also a big fan of perfect lawnmower lines!!!!

How far down did you cut it? I have an ego mower. I did 3 for the last couple weeks (thought I was aerating sooner) and debating on a 2 before aerating on Friday. I tried a like at 2 and it looks like it almost ripped it all up.
Looks great! What was your seeding rate? Living in SE Michigan and waiting for mine to start germinating, only at 2 weeks and it definitely doesn’t look as promising as yours lol.
I bought some overpriced, deep rooting, less water needed grass seed. It sat for years, like 5-7 yrs. My hubs never planted it.
We had two dogs and a really rainy fall. Not much grass left in the back. Over the years, the drought (California) took most of the grass front and back.
We divorced a couple years ago and I found the seed while packing. I was real mad about it because…$500! Some of the bags were intact, others had been distributed in the box due to mice.
I went into the yard and started pouring it all over, mostly in the bare dirt areas. I was chewing him out the whole time, saying that if he would have planted it, he would have a lawn, cost me good money, he’s too lazy, the works!
He has the best lawn now! I know he doesn’t water it enough, but it still grows and looks good!
Hurts me that I planted the lawn for him to enjoy, but for my grandsons sake, im glad its there.
Pretty sure getting the before/after correct on these kinds of posts is an impossible challenge for the average lawn enthusiast lol
Hopefully that is after and before picture order.
I hate living in AZ. Would love a lawn and vegetation like that.

This makes me feel better about how my lawn currently looks with over seeding today. Didn’t do the whole thing just large sections that got burned out. Grass finally started to green back up the last couple weeks and now it looks awful because I scalped it for overseeding. Also NE Ohio. I’m just a month behind your progress
