Just sharing my first pond (built roughly 4 weeks ago), previous owners left a butler's sink in the garden filled with soil so I repurposed it as a mini-pond. Added 3 oxygenators, one lily, one floating and one marginal plus a small solar powered aerator.
So far, it seems to be holding up ok and the local robin has been seen taken some morning baths in it and eating something off it.
If anyone has any feedback I'll gladly take it!
I'm worried about the lily outgrowing the pond and would like to add an extra marginal to cover the aerator tubing upper right corner but my SO says there are too many plants for such a small space
Thanks!!!

This pond is full of joy . Lily might grow but you can trim . You’re doing great . Nature thanks you ..
NIce result! A lil too crowded, maybe, but it’s good
UPDATE: I thought I added a top view picture to the post but it doesn’t seem like I did. Here it is!

I love this lil pond. And so does the wildlife.
It’s gorgeous!! 😍
I have a sink to do this with too. When my ADHD brain allows!
It’s beautiful, I love it!
Treat yourself to a wildlife camera and see if you get any night visitors too 😁
That’s really lovely!
Is it possible to attrack dragonflies with a small pond like that ?
Awesome. Wait til you get your first frog 🐸. Its truly a thing that makes you smile.
That looks beautiful. I have a little pond in a butler sink too. I’ve not had any noticeable wildlife yet but I’m holding out hope, and I’ve seen a couple of damselflies in the garden since, which I don’t remember seeing before the pond sink. It’s been about a year. I have a ramp up to it so frogs and hedgehogs can get to it and out again – I can’t tell from the pics if your log acts as the same, but that looks nicer than my ramp. Your oxygenator plant is a great idea. I will add one!
It looks great. I know it’s been mentioned it’s crowded but you can thin it as you go. More fun than waiting for everything to grow and fill it in 😁
I think you are probably OK but make sure anything which might fall in could climb out again – I think there’s something raised in the corner but the edges would be difficult for a hedgehog. Also, things like newts etc. climb out and hide under rocks, so if you built up around it at the back that would be good too.
Looks really good though.
Looks great! I have two raised ponds with log ladders and eventually the frogs and other wildlife figured out how to get in. It’s absolutely full of little water bugs, snails etc that seem to come out of nowhere Dragonflies have visited and it’s also nice to know other insects and also birds have another way to access water.
Just showed my husband, I want one! Its so much safer for little ones.
What’s the tall plant?
I’ve just started a similar project! Please could you write a list of plants you’d recommend? This looks lovely 💚
I have a butler sone in my garden left by previous people 40 odd years ago. where did you get the solar aerator? I need to make mine more than just water!
That looks fab!! Really want to try this myself
I’m not from the UK and I’m not that knowledgeable about ponds, but your post popped up and I think it looks great! If I were a frog I’d happily live here. I second another posters idea to get a wildlife camera, I bet lots of cute critters will be visiting. Your own nature documentary in the making haha.
Looks great !
Oh wow. I have two of these sinks in my garden ive been using as planters but come next spring im gonna do this!
Looks super. Do you think using a thing like a sink or paddling pool / sand pit is a better option that digging a hole and lining it? I want to do something similar but not sure where to start
Looks beautiful, a few years ago I dug up a Belfast sink, but made an alpine bed out of it, yours is magnificent though.
