CSU Flower Trial Gardens putting on a show
The gardens, 1401 Remington St., Fort Collins, Colo., are one of the city’s many attractions and are free and open to the public.
HGTV named the most beautiful garden you can visit in every state and the Denver Botanic Gardens earned the nod as its choice for Colorado.
It called the 23 acres of gardens in Denver’s Cheesman Park neighborhood a “high-altitude oasis where seven distinct gardens prove that elevation is no obstacle to botanical brilliance.”
The site acknowledged people could reasonably disagree with its picks and emphasized that it was trying to highlight some of the best in the nation, not discourage people from checking out others.
“We love gardens of all shapes and sizes — and know you do too!” HGTV wrote. “And we just want to be sure you don’t miss any icons that could be right under your nose — or on your travel itinerary — when time is a finite resource. These spots across the country are absolutely worth visiting.”
What makes Denver Botanic Gardens the best garden in Colorado?
“The Gardens’ innovative water-smart designs have transformed mountain gardening while offering spectacular views of the Denver skyline,” HGTV said.
Admission for nonmembers is $16 for adults; $12.25 for seniors (65+), military and veterans (with ID); $11.75 for children ages 3-15 and students with ID; and free for children 2 and younger.
The gardens also offer adult and children’s education programs in art, gardening, health and wellness, cooking, lectures and more.
