Hey! I’ve had this thai con monstera for about a year and a half now. It has two regular looking speckled green leaves and it USED to have three gorgeous almost half-moon leaves. I went on vacation and my roommate ended up watering it every.single.day and those smaller gorgeous leaves turned yellow and died off. Now this plant for the past year has just stayed as the two really green leaves with ZERO sign of new growth.
What should I do? It’s just not popping out any new leaves. I included a picture of the stem so you can see how it’s rooted/what the issue might be?

Have you repotted it at all this whole time? I would have repotted, made sure im fertilizing with every watering and move it to a brighter spot if its not growing in the spot its in. A year is pretty long time with 0 growth.
I agree with the other comment. You need to inspect the roots. If your roommate killed it by over watering, then there may be some serious rot down there.
Ohh mannnn. I also agree with the majority about root rot as the cause of no growth 1yr. I keep myself healthy because my biggest fear is that I’ll end up in the hospital for a few days/weeks and my husband would have literally no clue how to make the dogs meals and take care of the plants. That shit gives me nightmares.
There seems to be barely a node left to grow the plant, unless there is a bigger stem underneath that you might want to consider focusing your energy on.
Otherwise, think you should move it to a warm and humid spot to trigger new environment conducive to growth!
