Passed by a garden on my walk and became obsessed, I think it’s a flower?

It is indeed Beebalm! I love these! 💖

Bergamont is another common name. Those are flowers btw

But its genus is best to reference it by as folks have previously described here.

spreads like crazy and in the mint family

Monarda genus, one of the beebalms. Based on the single flower clusters and size of the leaves, might be a cultivar of Monarda didymus (the bright red of the wild form is prettier than this version IMHO). Could be wrong – I’m really only familiar with the eastern species. They smell awesome, too – sort of minty mixed with oregano/thyme.

  5. Bee Balm, I think maybe Aquarius Bee Balm specifically

So you obviously have the Reddit app, have you thought about downloading a plant identity app?

    This is a Monarda cultivar

The genus Monarda is endemic to North America

    Monarda punctata is my favourite

Many medicinal uses of bee balm

Bergamot/bee balm. The petals taste like horse radish and make an excellent seasoning for beef or pork. I have some drying in my basement right now that I harvested on my last camping trip.

Monarda, bee balm, Oswego tea. The hummingbirds love it.

This looks like it might specifically be the “purple rooster” variety.
