finally felt confident enough to buy my first orchid
saw her at kroger last night… usually they only have the standard purple/pink/white ones but this stood out to me the most and i had to have her! no idea what kind it is, any tips/advice for an orchid beginner? 🙂
Hybrid phalaenopsis. The American orchid society has a free phalaenopsis care pdf, and missorchidgirl on youtube has some good beginner orchid care videos.
There’s a small risk of losing flowers in a repot, but my biggest long term health tip is just repotting it into good, fresh bark/moss mix as soon as possible. They usually come in super compacted moss or have a nursery plug hidden in the pot that’ll give you root rot if it gets too wet.

That’s a lovely orchid. I have had two but I failed with mine, think a big part was that I was getting north east direction light, I live in a high rise to all my windows only face the one way. But I love Orchids they are gorgeous. I wish you well with your orchid.🥰
