I would not put those North Poles together. The insides won’t get any sun and will then turn brown. I knew someone did what you are going to do and they had a lot of dead foliage on them do to no sun hitting them. Good Luck with your planting!
I have a large Arb wall in my backyard, it is so beautiful , about 30 to 40 yrs old, they are about 25 ft.tall , a landmark to our neighborhood and we Love them !
I don’t see the recipe. Did I miss it?
Loving the front entry design, but really think the Norway Spruce needs to be moved and replaced with a matching arborvitae like the other side.
I am soooo glad you changed your mind with the placement of the boxwood! Flanking the driveway will look so lovely and formal.
Love seeing a little relaxation in your structured style👍
I bet that peach filling would be better if you smashed it with the sugar (or honey) and let it cook down into jam, adding the zest and juice of a lemon. Maybe even a touch of ginger.
Brilliant with the overhead shots! Looks perfect! Laura, you do not need a magic wand, you create magic!!!! Thank you.
WOW, WHAT AN ENTRANCE , BEAUTIFUL !!! 😊😊😊❤❤
I love your page❤
Beautiful! ❤
I do the same with recipes, first by the recipe then adjust to my taste. Maybe with the cream cheese just a thin layer and I agree some lemon juice & cinnamon adds a great flavor to peaches.
Sometimes I will look at 2 or 3 recipes and use the ingredients that I know I would like.
The placement of the arbs is really beautiful, Laura. Your meticulous planning really pays off.
Since the mail house is not finished, would it be possible to change the door to the side that faces the side lane (instead of facing the main driveway), so that the boxwoods can be placed without having to add a path to the door that would break up the line of boxwoods?
blanch the peaches in hot water and the skins just come right off
The front gate area is going to look stunning !!!🌸🌸🌸
Best way to peel peaches-Boil some water. Cur a small X on the bottoms. Put a peach or two at a time in the water for about 30 seconds. Place in ice water. Rub peels; they come right off.
Everything looks so good at your front gate! I'm wondering about snow removal on each side of your lane. Wouldn't placing the boxwoods so close to the lane be at risk for damage from a plow?
How can those trees grown/thrive in that deadpan soil?
Don’t put boxwoods right next to the lane, be mindful of delivery drivers and snow removal you will have constant damage to the hedge. Give at least 3 ish feet off the gravel before any thing is planted
I would plant a Japan Maple instead of the grass.
The boxwoods look quite nice in the swoop too in front of the gravel on the left hand side pillars. I know you don't have gravel on the otherside, but that would look fantastic on both sides!
I think the hydrangeas might grow to dwarf your pillars…just a thought.
Have you thought about moving the Norway spruce?
Hey Laura first I would like to say I love your videos you have been my biggest inspirations in my own garden. And next I feel like if your going to do it big do it big then!!! Lol bring the hydrangeas all the way down as far as the boxwoods and the second gate and all the way down on the other side too. I feel that will be beautiful ❤
I’ve made that recipe with apples, it’s yummy!
Instead of a string to mark the layout of where to plant things I use a garden hose. Easier to see and adjust because it doesn't shift and you don't have to peg it. After it's laid out, a can of spray paint quickly marks where the planting holes will go. Also, every time I see Aaron's beard I think of the plant called 'Aaron's Beard' aka Hypericum. LOL
A row of Orange Rocket Barberry would be pretty in front of the arb walls….
Laura and Aaron thank you for the detail demonstration of your preparation to ensure a well balanced and planted entry. All stunning work requires time , patience and preparation. Yo do this in your property and it looks fabulous.
Silly question…. Will you be making a pathway for deliveries and removing the items from your little package house? Just curious. Everything looks just glorious!
Maybe if you puréed your peaches first and adding some extra sugar it would be better texture wise 😋
The walk-way at the mail-house needs to come straight out to the driveway for the ease, & expedite of the delivery personnel!
Won't the boxwoods get squished if you're having to plow snow with those so close to the driveway?
