I am relatively new to bonsai and picked this up in an end of season sale last summer for £8. Over the year this little tree has taken a bit of a hammering as I’ve been experimenting and using it to learn. Over summer it has been flourishing and I decided it deserves its own personality, so I gave it is first proper styling (excuse the crude wiring). At the moment I’m trying to a decent primary branch structure going. I just wondered what you guys thought and what I might do to improve it? I know the branches are a bit long, but I’m currently trying to thicken them up.

Your bottom left two branches look like DNA strands, don’t have them cross like that

I’ve been looking for a ficus like this. Did you get the material from a nursery?

I’m also a beginner, but I think it looks great! It’s also inspiration for me as I have a similar Ficus that’s grown like gangbusters being outside all summer and I’ve been trying to visualize what to do with it. Will try something like this!
