Hello! I am still very new to house plants.

My husband got this pink princess for $20 from home depot for me.
It was really big and needed a repot ASAP.
It was root bound and couldn't hold itself up.
I transferred it to the biggest vase? I have and I filled it with leca. I only add water to just below the roots.
As soon as I'm able to afford buying an actual bigger pot with drain holes for the semi hydro, I will.

So… she was already pushing out this leaf when we got her.
I sadly had to cut off a few leafs because of the damage they had.
It took probably like 2 weeks for this leaf to come out to this stage.
I noticed though this growing from the new leaf.
Is it pushing out another leaf with the new leaf?

You can see my baby Thai con also pushed out a new leaf.
Since I moved them to this window, they started pushing leaves out.

I also have alocasia corms in leca that are pushing leaves out like crazy!
I think they are alocasia hehe…

Thank you in advance.

That is future growth, yes, but it’s still a long way from becoming a leaf.

i’m sure you got your answer i just wanna add you don’t have to cut off leaves just because they’re damaged. the plant can still use the leaves for photosynthesis.
