I recently inherited a monstera from a friend. It's hears old, but has been growing leggy, juvenile leaves as it hasn't been been in good growing condition. I decided to take a cutting and propagate it in water.
Now, it's been about a week, and while her aerial root bud has grown, she's also decided to invest energy into growing a leaf. Should I leave it in water for now or just bite the bullet and plant it into soil?

Wow thats a big first leaf, i would let it sit in water untill roots are good, you can choose not to but the roots will take longer time to form then. Maybe put some root cream on the little root you got there:)
I would leave her in water until you have a larger root system 🙂
She’s juuust putting out a little root, I’d keep in water for longer to encourage further growth. That’s a big first leaf!
She needs leaves in order to get energy. Keep it in water and in good daylight until you have lots of roots.
I’d wait for more roots.
