I have always prided myself on being anti-Crocs.
My husband lives in his, whether it’s taking my daughter swimming, gardening or even (shock) going out for coffee, I can’t get the divisive shoe off him.
But even knowing what I know (that they’re comfortable, easy to slip on and off and practical when doing chores), I still can’t bring myself to wear a pair — I just think they’re that ugly.

Until now. This weekend, I found myself idly watching Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan Netflix show, when I saw Meghan herself wearing a slip-on shoe that looked, dare I say it, chic and quiet luxury.
What is this shoe? I wondered to myself, quickly Googling to find out.

Reader: it was a Croc.
But not a Croc that I have ever seen before.
Meet the Crocs Dylan Clog.
Currently available at Big W for $69.95 in Meghan’s chosen ‘Cognac’ shade, Crocs say the Dylan clog boasts “the sophisticated charm of leather mules with a modern twist, offering the perfect blend of style and practicality in one exceptional choice of footwear”.
And I am inclined to agree.
Meghan said she uses these shoes religiously for gardening, but they’d be just as easy to throw on for Pilates classes, coffee runs, school drop offs and more.
I love that the subtle texture on the upper mimics the appearance of genuine, full-grain leather.
But they are still super quick-drying, easy to wipe clean and not overly expensive, meaning you can wear them everywhere.

I’ve hit add to cart on these ones after seeing them on the show, and I’m not the only one.
Crocs report that the style is selling out everywhere — but you can get your hands on some other colourways on Amazon Australia.
