Cheonggyecheon is set to transform into a vibrant autumn destination with the creation of a 1-kilometer cosmos flower path.
The Seoul Facilities Corporation planted over 20,000 cosmos seedlings along the section from Muhakgyo to Gosanja Bridge, offering citizens and visitors a colorful seasonal walking route.
Cheonggyecheon has recently emerged as a major filming hotspot for K-dramas and films, with more than 100 productions shot there in the past two years.
Scenes from JTBC’s ongoing drama Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Being Lawyers and Netflix’s XO, Kitty highlighted the stream’s urban charm, boosting its popularity as a “stroll-worthy” spot.
The cosmos project, part of the corporation’s 42nd anniversary initiative under the theme “Connecting Flower Paths, Planting Value,” involves 200 staff members planting seedlings that are expected to bloom fully by October.
The restored stream, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will also host a youth art festival featuring exhibitions and interactive cultural programs.
