I've been on my plant journey for 4 years now and succulents are my niche. However, I've never questioned something that i wasn't able to figure out on my own. With that being said, I've noticed this past week when I pick up the leaves that have fallen off naturally and the one im gently taking off (to prop) have this weird black yuck stuff gong on. What is it and how can I stop it. This is one of my favorite pot full of these beauties that I've had for a couple years, I hope to goodness it's not something that I can't fix!

I don’t know what causes it, but my leaves sometimes get those little black marks too, but it doesn’t seem to cause any problem. I just assumed it was cosmetic damage caused by the leaves being all jammed together on the stem and rubbing against any dirt or grit that fell in there.

The bottom one looks like it rotted from the growth point, so it probably won’t grow. Out of curiosity, was that one that fell off naturally or you pulled off? I feel like the ones that fall off mine have been much more likely to rot than the ones I pull off, but that’s just casual observation.

  2. If you pull off a healthy leave from the plant does it have the black or just the fallen leaves? If it is just the fallen leaves then I think you are ok, it is just leaf rot. If it is on the plant also, then I would do a deeper dive

I would say a fungal infection. The translucent leaf is more worrisome , could indicate stem rot
