My mother gifted me this, any tips in terms of light/soil/watering?

Loves bright in direct light, loves a well draining pot with chunky soil, loves to be watered when top inch of soil dry, loves being given fertilizer once a month, loves being dramatic when moved around a lot ( dramatic in leaves falling off and/or no growth).

Get Baby out of the corner. FLF are divas. They love attention and light.

    1. Wipe her leaves down with sexy plant juice about 1-2x month. (2 cups water, 2 tablespoons peppermint castille soap, 2-3 tablespoons neem oil, and a few drops of rubbing alcohol. Shake well. Spray and wipe.) While may be expensive up front, the supplies will last several years. Plus helps keep all bugs off it! And helps with photosynthesis.

    2. Do NOT overwater her. Use your finger… if top few inches are cool and damp, don’t water. If top few inches are dry and no change in temp, give her a deep soaking. I usually take mine to the kitchen sink and spray her down until she’s dripping from the bottom. Once per month, feed her. Purived (can get on Amazon) is really good and the bottle lasts me 6 months… and I have over 20 plants.

    3. Check her soil and see if needs to be replanted from box store soil. Get chunky soil mix… 50% potting soil, 25% perlite, 25% bark (orchid or pine). You may want to wait to do this next spring unless it looks like it needs it sooner, like getting major root bound now.

    4. Don’t forget… she’s a diva. She’ll drop leaves just cause she wants your attention 😂😂😂

Enjoy being a plant parent! 🌱

Get it in front of a window otherwise its slow decline will inspire pity and plants are meant to make us happy!

For starters get it to a window asap

Unless that is a grow light over it there is nowhere near enough light where it is even if there is a window just out of view of this pic!
